Tara is passionate about nature-based solutions to improve human health and well-being. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry, where she researches the effects of forest bathing and environmental factors on health outcomes. Tara is also an experienced Forest Therapy Guide with certifications from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and the International Society of Nature and Forest Medicine.
Tara’s interest in forest-based interventions began when she lived in Japan and learned about shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing, and received her initial training. Her expertise and credentials uniquely qualify her to guide participants in forest immersion experiences that foster a deep connection with the natural environment through their senses. Tara is a certified sustainability educator who promotes science education and environmental monitoring worldwide. She is committed to advocating for recognizing nonhuman rights and supports efforts to protect ecosystems and species under threat.Book a virtual or in-person session.
