Speaking. Guiding. Assessing.
Three ways to work with me directly. All grounded in the same research. All available to book.
01: Speaking
I give evidence-based talks on forest therapy, acoustic ecology, and the relationship between natural environments and human health. The research is real, the delivery is direct, and the audience leaves with something they can actually use.
Topics include:
- Forest bathing and measurable health outcomes — what the evidence actually shows
- Silent trails — protecting acoustic habitat for wildlife and humans
- The Four Pillars of Connection in Nature — a framework for nature-based program design
- Nature as public health infrastructure — from Japanese forests to Metro Vancouver parks
- Technology, nature, and the human spirit — bridging the digital and the living world
Past speaking engagements: International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO, Sweden) · World Conference on Forests and Parks for Public Health · Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute · Caltech · SXSW · The White House · UBC Faculty of Forestry · UBC Climate Scholars · BC Nature Annual General Meeting · GEF Assembly Members · Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School · Vancouver Physician Staff Association
Format: Keynote, panel, workshop, or Q&A. In-person or virtual. 30 minutes to full-day workshop.

02: Guided forest bathing
I lead small-group immersive nature sessions grounded in the research on forest bathing, sensory engagement, and the health effects of natural environments. These are not meditation classes. They are structured encounters with a living system, led by someone who has spent years studying what that encounter does to the body.
In-person sessions — Metro Vancouver

- Groups of 1–15
- Includes a tea gathering and reflection after the walk

03: Trail assessment
I conduct evidence-based evaluation of natural spaces using the Silent Trails framework — an assessment methodology developed through doctoral research and piloted with Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.
Assessment covers environmental factors, acoustic conditions, vegetation characteristics, and therapeutic potential. You receive a written report with findings and actionable recommendations your organization can implement and cite.
Who this is for: Parks departments · Municipalities · Land trusts · Healthcare systems seeking nature-based programming sites · Organizations developing therapeutic landscapes
What you get:
- Site visit and acoustic/environmental measurement
- Written assessment report with methodology documentation
- Recommendations for trail designation, programming, or policy
- Findings you can cite in funding applications and policy documents
